Admission to Angie's Shelter is not, however, confined to women with active addictions. Up to 16 women can stay at Angie's Shelter. It is a small, homelike environment where women can access the support and services they need while working to rebuild their lives. Angie's Shelter clients are required to regularly meet with their case manager to create a goal plan to achieve independent living.
Just as at the New Horizons Shelter, Angie's clients are expected to move forward and acquire employment and/or apply for benefits available to them. The case management team assists women in locating and making application to other agencies that will help them obtain housing, employment and other services. Classes and presentations are provided at Angie's on topics such as health issues, nutrition, meditation and stress relief, maintaining sobriety, financial basics, success after shelter, employment and self-esteem. Angie's Shelter is not a domestic violence shelter.
